Bi’an is a new network set up to connect, develop, and promote Chinese heritage writers across the UK. Whether you're beginning, emerging or established, whether you write fiction, life-writing, poetry or script, if you’re a Chinese heritage writer, this is your network. 

彼岸是全新的写作联盟,旨在连接、发展和鼓励生活在英国的华人作家。无论你是入门级菜鸟还是专业作家,无论你是写小说、传记、诗歌还是剧本,只要你是华人作家,这里就是我们相聚的地方。



Events



Bi’an Award

The Bi’an Award is a new writing competition open to UK-based writers of Chinese heritage and supported by Arts Council England, the Arvon Foundation and Stand magazine.

Writers will able to submit poems of up to 20 lines, a short story of up to 1000 words, or a five-minute script, in English or Chinese. The editors of Stand, Elaine Glover, John Whale and Jon Glover, and writer, Yan Ge, will be among the judges.

Prizes will include free places on the Bi’an Arvon residential writing course, and publication in the prestigious international literary magazine, Stand.

The competition will be open for entries from June 9th when full terms and conditions will be published. Winners will be announced at the Bi’an industry networking event at Northern Stage Theatre on 1st December 2018 and winning entries will be published in the June 2019 issue of Stand.
